Definitely not! CBD is not a psychoactive cannabinoid and you will not become addicted. Your state of mind will not change if you take CBD at all. CBD will work with your body and can improve your overall health and well-being if taken regularly and consistently over a period of time.
CBD is a food/dietary supplement, the UK population spends millions of pounds on supplements every year as they provide health and wellbeing benefits as part of a balanced diet. The CBD market is no different and is growing at a phenomenal pace as adults of all ages recognise and experience the benefits that CBD can offer. Anyone suffering with skin problems i.e. acne, eczema or chronic pain will benefit from using CBD due to its anti-inflammatory properties. CBD also contains powerful antioxidants which outperform other vitamin supplements.
As a population, never have we been more aware of mental health and finding ways of dealing with the daily stresses of modern life. CBD promotes a healthy balance between mind and body and can be used to calm the symptoms of insomnia and anxiety. Don’t just take our word for it – this has been recognised in reports published by the World Health Organisation.
Please note CBD is NOT recommended if pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are taking other medication, please consult a medical professional before taking CBD.
Full spectrum CBD is, as the name describes full of other cannabinoids and substances from the hemp plant. It includes all of the terpenes, cannabinoids (such as CBN and CBG), flavonoids and fatty acids found in hemp – all of which work together to create “the entourage effect”. This can be described as the different compounds working together as a team to tackle different conditions within the body.
Isolate is CBD in its most potent form at 99.9% purity. The white powder can be mixed with a carrier oil such as the MCT oil which we use in our Bene Esse isolate range for improved absorption. There is no entourage effect with isolate but it does provide the highest concentration of CBD per serving which is beneficial for users who want a higher does of CBD and a guarantee that it is THC free and will not show up on a drug test.
Drugs tests will pick up THC as this is the compound which can create the ‘high’ feeling if taken in exceptionally large doses; this is the illegal element that causes much debate! CBD products sold in the UK contain less that the legal limit (0.2%) of THC so for most users there will not be an issue with passing a drugs test.
Users who take extremely high amounts of CBD per day or must adhere to strict drug testing rules as part of their career or profession should opt for a product made from isolate to ensure zero THC content.
We always recommend that users do not consume more than the recommended 200mg of CBD oil per day.
There are many factors that can influence this weight, lifestyle, CBD strength, dosage etc. so timescales will vary across different users. CBD is not a ‘quick fix’, it works with your body to improve symptoms.
CBD can be taken in many forms either orally (e.g. oils) or topically (e.g. creams) and both should be incorporated into your daily routine to improve overall health and well-being.
You should take it at a time that fits in with your daily routine or when you feel symptoms flaring up. Many of our customers prefer to take it in the morning as they start their day and then again at night to relax before sleep.
A regular routine is important when taking CBD to feel the full benefit; listen and work with your body to determine a routine that is right for you.
As a food supplement, the maximum adult daily intake is recommended to be no more than 200mg. If you’re a first-time user of oral oils, we suggest you go low and slow – start with 10mg twice per day. After a week, you can double that amount to 20mg twice per day. “Listen to your body” and increase the amount you take accordingly, without exceeding the 200mg daily amount. Once you feel the benefits, it’ll be easy for you to assess which is the best amount for you.
Our full spectrum oils and capsules are manufactured by a leading European GMP certified manufacturer. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification is necessary for trading with the pharmaceutical industry so you can be sure of the quality. We also test each batch of oil using an independent third-party lab to guarantee the CBD strength, terpenes content and no contamination from pesticides and metals.
